- Captured the Ivy League's only NIT championship in 1975
- Won two Ivy League playoff games (1981 and 1996)
- Princeton's all-time winningest coach led the nation in scoring defense 14 times with the Tigers (1976-77-79-83-84-86-89-90-91-92-93-94-95-96)
- Never incurred a losing record in his 29 seasons with Princeton before retiring. He was promptly hired as an assistant by the NBA's Sacramento Kings
- Played in college under coach Butch van Breda Kolff
- Elected to Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1997
- Final Top 20 Rankings (four: AP/UPI/USA)--1968 (NR/15), 1975 (12/NR), 1976 (NR/19) and 1991 (18/20/NR)
- All-Americans (one): Princeton's Brian Taylor (1972).
